Oscar Seaton, Anyone ?

Drummer Oscar Seaton is one of the new generation groove drummers and is playing with George Benson and has toured with Lionel Ritchie.

Here is an audio clip of him grooving with sax player Katisse, Don Grusin and Jerry Watts. Beginning of clip is slow, but tough it out and hear Oscar delivering one hell of a rhythm.

Awesome! Perhaps the most impressing thing for me was the build-up throughout the track. Those transitions from bass and rim to hi-hats and snare to ride patterns was really nicely constructed. Thanks for digging this one out Groovissimo. You're clips of lesser-discussed drummers are always a pleasure to watch.

Keep an eye out for this great drummer ! Oscar Seaton is one great groove drummer. I saw him play with an all-star L.A. band last year and ... what a performer. But, we all know how long, these days, a guy like Oscar has to wait to get his name up
there with the greats.
